Atmakaraka dasha

Atmakaraka dasha

The Atmakaraka planet is the master of the chart and always presents life’s greatest lessons. The natural Atmakaraka is the Sun. The Atmakaraka of this article is the chara Atmakaraka. Chara Atmakaraka is also known as personal Atmakaraka which guides the soul towards GOD. The planet that has the highest degree in any sign is considered the Chara Atmakaraka. According to Sanjay Rath, the mahadasha of the Atmakaraka is difficult and a challenging one.

Atmakaraka's dasha would not be good - there would be suffering to purify the soul. Atmakaraka teaches us through painful experiences because it is supposed to clean our souls- difficult on mundane level but beneficial on spiritual and in terms of growth. Malefic planet as Atmakaraka indicates a high level of spiritual development whereas a benefic planet as the Atmakaraka indicates a relatively lower level. A Malefic Atmakaraka invariably indicates suffering during its Vimsottari dasa. During the Narayana dasa of the sign occupied by the Atmakaraka or those aspecting it, great achievements are made. If the native is spiritually inclined then the dasa of the Atmakaraka can be beneficial. A retrograde Atmakaraka indicates a deep-rooted desire as being the cause of the birth. Combustion of Atmakaraka gives spiritual insight.

Mahadasha of Atmakaraka will be problematic only if Atmakaraka is afflicted. In the given example chart Venus is the Atmakaraka having the highest degree in Taurus. Venus is the karaka for marriage/spouse/marital happiness. Venus in 11th house with 7th and 5th lord. Venus is afflicted by malefics and the native is suffereing in the area of marriage.

  1. Hello!!! Just a doubt... What if the aatmakaraka is venus and its afflicted by malefics and the person has his dasha period when he is 52 years of age?? I am asking this because a person would have realised many things pertaining to relationships by that age with an afflicted venus in birth chart.

  3. Hi I wanted to ask that venus as aatmakaraka it's asked to not involve in illegitimate lust , or physical involvement , sex . But what if it's with someone you truly love , before marriage ? Is it still harmful for the soul ? Would it affect other aspects of life .its not meant out of lust but pure love .
